My name is Mirzel Avdic and I am a Critical Thinking Interaction Designer. I have a Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from the Computer Science Department at Aarhus University, Denmark. My research encompasses the study of context-aware ubiquitous computing systems with an emphasis on intelligibility of such sensing systems. My dissertation focuses on voice controlled smart speakers; exploring the opportunities for physical actuation and what it can bring to the design of smart speakers and Internet of Things devices alike.
In my spare time I like to try out things that are different from what I already know or am familiar with. Recently, I started learning a new musical instrument and started to develop a computer game with a friend. I am also part of SEADS community and I am interested in how design can contribute to shaping human activities in outer space and how that can translate into improving life quality; create opportunities for inhabiting planets; shape future space missions and much more!
